Lavazza
Luigi Lavazza bought a small grocery shop in the centre of Turin in 1895. In those days, this type of shop was used not only for retail purposes, but also for the production of coffee, for example. Coffee beans were bought raw and roasted according to the customer's wishes. Luigi found this very interesting and decided to start in the coffee business. He was one of the first to mix different types of coffee beans from different parts of the world to create special blends. For this, he used beans from Asia, Africa and Latin America. By creating different blends and roasts, Luigi Lavazza soon became a well-known coffee roaster.
